Abstract. The article presents changes in the structure of the Russian fleet, a comparative assessment of the currently most popular cars in Russia, their technical characteristics and the brand of fuel used. The dynamics of automobile gasoline production over the past 10 years is considered. It is shown that due to the increase in consumption of premium gasoline brands, there is a need to optimize their component composition, search for effective solutions for the development and production of various octane boosters.
